Variety source: developed by the Rice Research Institute of Southwest University of Science and Technology and the Rice Research Institute of Sichuan Agricultural University by crossing the male sterile line 803A with Shuhui 527.

Characteristics: the whole growth period is 150.3 days, 0.8 days shorter than the control Shanyou 63; the plant type is compact, the tillering ability is relatively strong, and the color turns well in the later stage. Plant height is 118.9 cm, panicle length 26.3 cm, average grains per panicle 161.5, seed setting rate 82.2%, and 1000-grain weight 28.44 g. Quality testing shows that 9 indicators reach the Ministry-issued second-class fine rice standard. Resistance to rice blast: leaf blast grade 1-6, neck blast grade 3-7, superior to the control.

Yield performance: participated in the Sichuan Provincial Regional Trial from 2000 to 2001. In 2000, the average yield was 568.2 kg per mu, an increase of 7.25% over the control Shanyou 63. In the 2001 continued trial, the average yield was 570.0 kg per mu, an increase of 6.3% over the control Shanyou 63. The two-year average yield was 569.1 kg per mu, an increase of 6.75% over the control Shanyou 63. In 2001, it participated in the provincial production trial with an average yield of 574.4 kg per mu, an increase of 8.61% over the control Shanyou 63.

Cultivation points: sow early at the proper time, cultivate strong seedlings with many tillers, seedling age about 45 days, transplant 100,000-120,000 basic seedlings per mu, apply heavy base fertilizer and topdress early, and increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer; irrigate with shallow water, dry the field at the appropriate time, and control pests and diseases in a timely manner.
