Detailed introduction to the rice variety D You 162

(1) Variety source: A medium indica early-maturing hybrid combination developed by the Rice Research Institute of Sichuan Agricultural University using D (Shan) A / Shuhui 162.

(2) Characteristics: The growth period is 143 days, 1-2 days longer than Shanzhai 8. The plant height is 89.9 cm, with 137.3 grains per panicle, a seed-setting rate of about 80%, and a 1000-grain weight of 27.5 g. The seedling stage has vigorous growth, strong tillering ability, and good color conversion in the later stage. Leaf blast is grade 4-6, and neck blast is grade 0-5.

(3) Yield performance: Participated in the provincial regional trial in 1994-1995, with yields of 437.8 kg and 459.5 kg per mu respectively, increases of 4.86% and 7.01%, and a two-year average of 448.7 kg, an increase of 5.94% over Shanzhai 8. In 1995, production trials were conducted in Shizhu, Xuanhan, Cangxi, Baoxing, Hongya and other places, with an average yield of 475.3 kg per mu, an increase of 11.3% over Shanzhai 8. The brown rice rate is 81%, the milled rice rate is 69.4%, and the head rice rate is 52.25%. The appearance and eating quality are comparable to the control.
