How is the D You 362 rice variety?

(1) Variety source: This variety was developed by the Rice Research Institute of Sichuan Agricultural University by crossing D Shan A with Shuhui 362.

(2) Variety characteristics: This combination has a total growth period of about 150 days, 2-3 days longer than the control Shanzhai 8. Plant height is 87.8 cm, average grains per panicle is 152, seed-setting rate is 81.8%, 1000-grain weight is 26.2 g, brown rice rate is 82.5%, milled rice rate is 71.4%. Processing and appearance quality are superior to the control. Resistance identification (leaf blast grade 3-5, neck blast grade 3-7) shows relatively strong rice blast resistance. This combination has vigorous growth, strong tillering ability, and good adaptability, yield potential, and yield stability.

(3) Yield performance: In the provincial regional trials from 1996-1997, the two-year average yield was 497.9 kg per mu, an increase of 10.79% over the control Shanzhai 8. In the 1997 production trial, the average yield was 499.4 kg per mu, an increase of 11.13% over the control Shanzhai 8.

(4) Cultivation key points: 1. Sow at the appropriate time; seedling age of 45 days is suitable. 2. Transplant 15,000-17,000 hills per mu, with more than 60,000 basic seedlings. 3. In field fertilization, apply basal and topdressing fertilizer twice, with N, P, and K combined, and appropriately increase phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.

(5) Suitable planting areas: Suitable for mountainous areas around the basin and some flat dam grain and cash crop areas.
