What were the leading rice varieties for the main growing season in Wenjiang in 2008

To determine the rice varieties best suited to our district for 2008, advance the construction of the "plant three to produce four" high-yield project demonstration plots for rice, and do a good job of variety screening, on August 31 our district organized an on-site inspection meeting for new rice variety trials. Participants first visited the "plant three to produce four" high-yield project demonstration plot in Zhanqi Village, Tangchang Town, Pidu County, and the "Sichuan Province Variety Regional Trial Station" in Jiujiang Town, Shuangliu, then visited the on-site field trials of new rice varieties in Helin Village, Wanchun Town, in our district, where 18 new rice varieties organized by our district were displayed and compared together in the same field. The inspection focused on the resistance, yield potential, growth period (maturity), adaptability and novelty of the trial varieties, and a comprehensive evaluation opinion was formed on the field performance of each variety. Combining variety performance in production areas and seed source conditions, the following were preliminarily selected as the leading rice varieties for our district in 2008: II You 498, Q You No. 6, II You 084, Neixiang 8518, Yixiang No. 10, Yixiang 2292, Chuanxiang 9838, Neixiangyou No. 1, Gangyou 527, Gangyou 906, Gangyou 725, Gangyou 94-11, and Gangyou 188, 13 in total.
