Ⅱ You 92-4 Rice Variety Introduction

(1) Variety source: This variety is a new late-maturing hybrid rice combination developed by the Neijiang Hybrid Rice Development Center, the Sichuan Provincial Seed Station, and the Leshan Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences by crossing Ⅱ-32A with restorer line 92-4.

(2) Characteristics: The full growth period is 152 days, 4.1 days longer than Shanyou 63. Plant height is 118 cm, panicle length is 25 cm, average grains per panicle is 141, seed setting rate is about 85%, and 1000-grain weight is 28 g. It is cold-tolerant at the seedling stage, with dark green leaves, vigorous growth, strong tillering ability, compact plant type, erect flag leaves, and a high panicle-setting rate. It turns yellow well in the late stage. The brown rice rate is 79.8%, and the milled rice rate is 70.4%, with quality superior to the control. Neck blast resistance is grade 0-5, clearly stronger than the control.

(3) Yield performance: In the provincial regional trials from 1995-1996, the two-year average yield was 569.31 kg per mu, a 3.64% increase over Shanyou 63. In production trials, the average yield was 584.64 kg per mu, an 11.65% increase over Shanyou 63.

(4) Cultivation points: The suitable sowing period is from late March to April 5. Cultivate strong seedlings with multiple tillers, with a seedling age of 40-45 days. Transplant 12,000-15,000 hills per mu, apply heavy base fertilizer, apply topdressing early, and combine nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium reasonably at a moderate fertilization level.
