Detailed Explanation of Key Points for High-Yield Cultivation Techniques of Guodao 6 Rice
Guodao 6 is a new high-yield, high-quality single-season rice variety bred by Dr. Cheng Shihua, Director of the China National Rice Research Institute, and breeding expert Cao Liyong using molecular marker technology. Guodao 6 has a whole growth period of about 140 days, with advantages including a well-developed root system, relatively fast tillering, broad and upright leaves, thick and sturdy stems, large panicles, heavy grains, high yield, and excellent grain quality, making it suitable for promotion and planting in our city.
Key points of cultivation techniques:
1. Timely sowing: Locally, it is suitable to sow from May 25-28. Before sowing, soak seeds with "Xianjunqing" for disinfection, and promote germination until the sprouts emerge, then sow. Seedbed sowing rate is 6 kg/mu.
2. Raise medium seedlings and transplant early: Use the semi-dry single-stage seedling method, with a seedling age of 18-25 days and a leaf age of 4.5-5.5 leaves being ideal, with each seedling bearing 1-3 tillers (i.e., the two-fork stage).
3. Apply basal fertilizer well: Before rotary tillage, apply more organic fertilizer and apply sufficient basal fertilizer.
4. Reasonable dense planting: For high yield, it is required to transplant 1-1.1 ten-thousand hills per mu, with 14-15 panicles per hill, 180 filled grains per panicle, and a 1000-grain weight of 31 grams. Transplant 1-2 seedlings per hill. Avoid high temperatures to prevent seedling failure.
5. Scientific fertilization: One week after transplanting, use 1 packet of bensulfuron-methyl mixed with 3-4 kg urea per mu for weeding and topdressing. At 12-14 days, apply 5-8 kg urea to promote tillering. When 10 seedlings have developed, apply 8 kg potassium chloride per mu, and after 3-5 days, drain the field to control tillering. At the early jointing stage, apply 15 kg compound fertilizer per mu as panicle fertilizer to promote sturdy stems and large panicles. In the later stage, apply flower-preserving fertilizer and grain fertilizer according to field conditions, and spray foliar fertilizers such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate.
6. Aerobic irrigation, strong roots and healthy seedlings: Expose the field as much as possible, alternating dry and wet, which helps rice roots penetrate deeply and promotes vigorous rice plant growth. (Except during the booting stage and flowering stage). When each hill has 14-15 plants, promptly dry the field to control seedlings.
7. Seize the timing and control pests and diseases well: Rice pest control depends on timely action, with focus on controlling stem borers, leaf rollers, rice planthoppers, and sheath blight.
8. From establishment to maturity, harvest only when fully ripe. Single-season rice has large panicles and a long grain-filling period, so harvest only when 95% of the grains are fully filled and turning yellow.
