I. Breeding Institution: Jilin City Academy of Agricultural Sciences II. Variety Origin: In 1993, a sexual cross was made using Guteng line 127/Qiuguang F1 as the female parent and C91118 as the male parent, and the progeny were developed through the pedigree method. Original code name Jiudao 401. III. Characteristics: 1. Plant traits: plant height 109 cm, compact plant type, erect leaves, strong tillering ability, about 23 effective panicles per hill; 2. Panicle traits: panicle length 18 cm, loose panicle shape, main and tiller panicles uniform

II. Variety Origin: In 1993, a sexual cross was made using Guteng line 127/Qiuguang F1 as the female parent and C91118 as the male parent, and the progeny were developed through the pedigree method. Original code name Jiudao 401.

III. Characteristics:

1. Plant traits: plant height 109 cm, compact plant type, erect leaves, strong tillering ability, about 23 effective panicles per hill;

2. Panicle traits: panicle length 18 cm, loose panicle shape, main and tiller panicles uniform, 230 grains per main panicle, average 115 grains per panicle, medium grain density, seed setting rate above 90%;

3. Grain traits: grains oval, yellow, with sparse short awns, 1000-grain weight 25.8 g;

4. Quality analysis: According to the NY122-86 "High-Quality Edible Rice" standard, 9 indicators including brown rice rate, milled rice rate, head rice rate, length-to-width ratio, chalkiness degree, alkali spreading value, gel consistency, amylose content, and protein content reached the first-grade standard for ministry-level high-quality rice, and 2 indicators including grain length and chalkiness rate reached the second-grade standard for high-quality rice; JP25, stress resistance: by artificial inoculation identification, moderately resistant to seedling blast; by off-site field natural induction identification, moderately resistant to leaf blast, susceptible to neck blast;

5. Growth duration: late-maturing variety. Growth period 143 days, requiring ≥10°C accumulated temperature of 2850°C.

IV. Yield Results:

In 2001, the average yield in the preliminary trial was 8496.0 kg per hectare, 4.3% higher than the control Guandong 107; in 2002-2003, the average yield in the regional trial was 8352.5 kg per hectare, 8.9% higher than the control Guandong 107; in 2003, the average yield in the production trial was 8702.5 kg per hectare, 3.6% higher than the control Guandong 107.

V. Cultivation Points:

1. Sowing and transplanting: sow sparsely to raise strong seedlings, sow in early to mid-April, transplant in mid to late May;

2. Cultivation density: 30×20 cm, 3-4 seedlings per hill;

3. Fertilization: formula fertilization with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, apply 135 kg of pure nitrogen per hectare, applied as 20% basal fertilizer, 20% tillering fertilizer, 20% supplementary fertilizer, 20% panicle fertilizer, and 20% grain fertilizer, 75 kg of phosphate fertilizer and 75 kg of potassium fertilizer, applied in two split applications;

4. Field management: water management should mainly be shallow water, with intermittent irrigation after heading. Pay attention to controlling the striped stem borer in early to mid-July, and promptly control rice blast.

VI. Suitable Region: Late-maturing rice region of Jilin Province.
