Characteristics: Semi-winter habit, medium maturity, maturing 1 day earlier than the control Yumai 49. Seedlings semi-erect, leaves true green, strong tillering ability. Plant height 75 cm, plant type slightly loose, thick spike layer. Spike spindle-shaped, long awns, white glumes, white grains, grains semi-hard to hard. Average 380,000 spikes per mu, 35 grains per spike, 1000-grain weight 41 g. Relatively strong lodging resistance, relatively good cold resistance. Inoculation disease resistance identification: highly resistant to stripe rust, moderately resistant to stem rust, moderately susceptible to powdery mildew and sheath blight, highly susceptible to Fusarium head blight and leaf rust. Mixed samples tested in 2003/2004 respectively: test weight 786/808 g/L, protein content 15.2/15.8%, wet gluten content 32.7/31.9%, sedimentation value 41.1/42.3 mL, water absorption 57.4/58.5%, dough stability time 7.2/5.6 minutes, maximum resistance to extension 286/346 E.U, extension area 68/80 sq cm.
Yield performance: In the 2002-2003 season, it participated in the regional trial of the winter water group in the southern part of the Huang-Huai winter wheat region, with an average yield of 482.7 kg per mu, an increase of 5.5% over the control Yumai 49 (extremely significant). In the 2003-2004 season, it was tested again, with an average yield of 558.3 kg per mu, an increase of 3.2% over the high-yield control Yumai 49 (not significant), and an increase of 9.86% over the high-quality control Gaomai 8901 (extremely significant). In the 2003-2004 season production trial, the average yield was 503.9 kg per mu, an increase of 3.7% over the control Yumai 49. It performed excellently in the three provinces of Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu, with an average yield of 506.4 kg per mu, an increase of 5.02% over Yumai 49.
Key cultivation techniques: The suitable sowing period is early to mid-October, and within the suitable sowing period the lower limit should be adopted.
