Introduction to the Characteristics and Traits of the Neimai No. 6 Wheat Variety
(1) Variety source: This variety was developed by the Neijiang City Institute of Agricultural Sciences in 1988 through composite crossbreeding using Kengui A No. 1 V.P.M and Mianyang No. 14 as the main parents.
(2) Characteristics and traits: This variety is a winter@#@245@#@spring-type variety, with a whole growth period of 178-183 days, maturing 1-2 days later than the control 80-8, plant height 85-87 cm, upright seedlings, dark green leaves, vigorous growth, strong tillering ability, relatively high spike-bearing rate, rectangular spikes, awnless, white glumes, plump grains, red grains, semi-hard endosperm, 1000-grain weight 45-50 g; according to quality testing by the Mianyang Grain Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, the wet gluten of the grains is 32.89%; protein content 14.31%, flour yield 66.1%, test weight 736 g/L; relatively strong drought tolerance and lodging resistance, good yellowing and color conversion, easy threshing. In 1995, identified by the Plant Protection Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences: moderately resistant to stripe rust, susceptible to powdery mildew, leaf rust and fusarium head blight, and its resistance to stripe rust and powdery mildew is better than the control 80-8.
(3) Yield performance: In the 1991 and 1992 wheat regional trials in Neijiang City, the average yield per mu was 327.34 kg, an increase of 5.14% over the control Mianyang No. 19; in the 1993 and 1994 regional trials in Leshan City, the average yield per mu in 1993 was 290.58 kg, an increase of 6.7% over the control Mianyang No. 11; in 1994, the average yield per mu was 312.25 kg, an increase of 4.0% over the control 80-8; in 1992 and 1994, it participated in production trials in Neijiang City and Leshan City respectively, increasing yield by 7.5% and 3.8 respectively compared with the control.
(4) Suitable planting areas: Suitable for planting as winter wheat in the central Sichuan hilly region and northwestern Sichuan and other similar ecological regions.
