Practical methods for raising water temperature when growing rice with well water
The biggest drawback of growing rice with well water is the low water temperature, which affects the good growth and development of rice, leading to reduced yield and poor quality. Therefore, raising the water temperature when growing rice with well water is crucial. The specific technical measures are:
1. Set up a solar warming pond to raise the water temperature. Adding a solar warming pond is an effective measure to raise the water temperature when growing rice with well water. The area of the solar warming pond should be based on actual conditions and adapted to local circumstances. Generally, the area of the solar warming pond should be 1500-2000 sq m, preferably reaching about 1/20 of the irrigation area of the pump. According to experimental research, a 2000 sq m solar warming pond can raise the temperature by 3-5°C during the daytime in mid-May, and by 5-9°C during the daytime in mid-June, which is of great significance for the early growth and rapid development of rice.
2. Extend the water channel to raise the water temperature. Extending the water channel is an effective measure to raise the water temperature and reduce costs. Practice has proved that for every 100 m the water channel is extended, the water temperature can be raised by 3-5°C.
3. Pump during the day and irrigate at night to raise the water temperature. Based on the characteristic that the water temperature in paddy field ponds rises quickly during the daytime, adopt pumping, storing and sun-warming water during the day, and after 16 hours, irrigate the paddy field ponds, which can raise the water temperature by 0.6-2°C.
4. Clear weeds to raise the water temperature. Weeds in well irrigation channels grow luxuriantly and affect light. Therefore, weeds in the channels and on the pond ridges should be cleared in time to improve the radiation effect of solar energy on the paddy fields, thereby raising the water temperature.
