Red Pearl Schisandra bears many fruits, with a yield twice as high
Recently, the reporter learned during an interview that Dai Ping, a villager from Fenghuangshan Village, Fengshan Economic Management District, Fengcheng City, has grown high-yield Schisandra. For ordinary varieties, the average fresh fruit yield per plant is usually 2.5-3 kg; while the average fresh fruit yield per plant grown by Dai Ping is 7-8 kg, twice as high as ordinary varieties. This high-yield variety is a Schisandra called "Red Pearl" that Dai Ping purchased from the Institute of Special Animal and Plant Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences after consulting several experts.
According to Dai Ping, to make Schisandra high quality and high yield, the choice of variety is the foundation, and scientific field management is the key. First, the planting trench should be dug as deep as possible. Generally, the depth is 60-70 cm. This helps the plants fully absorb nutrients. Second, when watering Schisandra, the amount of water should be moderate, and the principle of "dry before wet" should be followed, because too much water can cause the fruit to rot, while insufficient water will affect the growth and development of the fruit. Generally, watering once every 7-10 days is appropriate. Third, when fertilizing Schisandra, the fertilizer should be sufficient, and chicken manure, pig manure, corn stalks, etc. should be the main materials. Finally, when preventing and controlling common diseases such as root rot and leaf blight, the best results are achieved by appropriately selecting the ecological soil-improving fertilizer and foliar fertilizer produced by Guangxi Nanning Nanguochun Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
It is understood that a few days ago, Yan Tinglin, director of the Medicinal Plant Experimental Farm of Shenyang Agricultural University and senior agronomist, greatly praised the high-yield performance of this Schisandra plant. Dai Ping happily told the reporter that if these individual Schisandra plants can show good traits for three consecutive years, he can apply to a professional technical department for new variety identification.
