How is the Jinshu No. 13 potato variety?

Characteristics: Plant type upright, medium branching, stems green, leaves light green, corolla white, plant height about 80 cm, natural fruit setting medium, tubers flat-round with yellow skin and light yellow flesh, eye depth medium, tuber set concentrated, 4-5 tubers per plant.

A mid-late maturing variety, about 105 days from emergence to maturity. Strong growth vigor, relatively strong drought resistance.

Quality analysis by the Vegetable Quality Supervision, Inspection and Testing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture: crude protein 2.7%, Vc 13.1mg/100g, starch 14.4%, dry matter 22.1%, reducing sugar 0.4%.

Yield performance: In 2000-2001, it participated in the provincial potato mid-late maturing group regional trial. In 2000, the average yield per mu at 8 sites was 1453 kg, an increase of 32% over the control Jinshu No. 7, with the proportion of increased-yield sites reaching 100%; in 2001, the average yield per mu at 8 sites was 1089 kg, an increase of 30.4% over the control Jinshu No. 7, with the proportion of increased-yield sites reaching 100%. In 2002, it participated in the provincial potato mid-late maturing group promising variety production trial, with an average yield per mu of 1760.4 kg, an increase of 16.3% over the control Jinshu No. 7.

Cultivation points: Leave 3500 plants per mu; in plots with good water and fertilizer conditions, planting density can be appropriately increased, with about 4000 plants per mu being suitable. Because this variety has high per-plant productivity, if planted in high ridges, it can better realize the variety's high-yield potential.

Suitable areas: It can be planted in the single-season potato areas of Datong, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, Taiyuan and other areas in our province.
