Introduction to the Lumai 15 Wheat Variety and Its Characteristics
Breeding institution: Department of Agronomy, Shandong Agricultural University.
Approval status: Approved by the Shandong Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee, approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee in 1996, and approved by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee in 1998.
Variety approval number: Guoshenmai 980010.
Variety source: (Tal Yangmai No. 1 BI/757318) F1//104-14.
Characteristics: Semi-winter, tending toward spring habit. Plant height 80-85 cm, spike nearly rectangular, 350,000-380,000 spikes per mu, 1000-grain weight about 43 g, crude protein content 13.2%, test weight 771 g/L. A mid-early maturing variety, resistant to stripe rust, leaf rust and stem rust, slightly susceptible to powdery mildew, and with good resistance to soil-borne mosaic virus. The three yield components are relatively well coordinated, with good high and stable yield performance, tolerance to dry hot wind, and good ripening appearance. From 1987-1989, it participated in the Shandong Province @#@245@#@ high-fertility group regional trial, with a two-year average yield of 483.5 kg per mu, 8% higher than the control Jinan No. 13; from 1989-1990, it participated in production trials, with an average yield of 427 kg per mu, 19.7% higher than the control Jinan No. 13. From 1993-1996, it participated in the Jiangsu Province wheat regional trial and production trial, with an average yield of 429 kg per mu.
Cultivation points: Sowing is generally appropriate from October 1 to Cold Dew, and late sowing may be delayed to early to mid-November. Under high-fertility and high-water conditions, the basic seedling population per mu is 80,000-100,000 spikes; under medium-fertility and medium-water conditions, the basic seedling population per mu is 120,000-150,000. Pay attention to the control of powdery mildew and sheath blight.
Suitable range: Central and southern Shandong and northern Jiangsu, in areas with medium to above-medium fertility levels.
