Practical methods for raising water temperature when growing rice with well water
The biggest drawback of growing rice with well water is the low water temperature, which affects the good growth and development of rice, leading to reduced yield and poor quality. Therefore, raising the water temperature for rice grown with well water is crucial. Specific technical measures:
1. Set up a sunning pond to raise the water temperature. Adding a sunning pond is an effective measure for raising the water temperature of rice grown with well water. The area of the sunning pond should be based on actual conditions and adapted to local circumstances. Generally, the area of the sunning pond is 1500-2000 sq m, and it is appropriate for it to reach about 1/20 of the irrigation area of the pump. According to experimental research, a 2000 sq m sunning pond can achieve a daytime temperature increase of 3-5°C in mid-May, and a daytime temperature increase of 5-9°C in mid-June, which is of great significance for the early growth and rapid development of rice.
2. Extend the water channel to raise the water temperature. Extending the water channel is an effective measure for raising the water temperature and reducing costs. Practice has shown that for every 100 m the water channel is extended, the water temperature can be raised by 3-5°C.
3. Pump by day and irrigate by night to raise the water temperature. Based on the characteristic that the water temperature in the paddy field pool rises quickly during the day, adopt pumping, storing, and sun-warming during the day, and after 16 hours, irrigate the paddy field pool, which can raise the water temperature by 0.6-2°C.
4. Clear weeds to raise the water temperature. Weeds in well-irrigation channels grow lushly and affect light. Therefore, weeds in the channels and on the pond ridges should be cleared in a timely manner to improve the radiation effect of solar energy on the paddy field, thereby raising the water temperature.
