Pre-planting to planting-period control methods for chili peppers
1. Adjust the planting structure and carry out rational crop rotation. Avoid continuous cropping with cucurbits and solanaceous vegetables; a rotation of more than three years can be carried out with cruciferous cabbage and Chinese cabbage, and with liliaceous Welsh onion, garlic, etc.
2. Choose disease-resistant varieties. Such as Haijiao No. 2, Zhongjiao No. 4, Zhongjiao No. 5, Zhongjiao No. 6, Zhongjiao No. 7, Zhongjiao No. 8, Tianjiao No. 3, Tianjiao No. 4, Tianjiao No. 6, Zhijiao No. 1, Zhijiao No. 9, Fengjiao No. 1, Dujiao No. 1, Jinjiao No. 8, Zaoshu No. 1, etc.
3. Seedbed disinfection. You can use 50% carbendazim at 1:100 to make poisoned soil at 1.2 kg per sq m and broadcast it, or use 75% thiophanate-methyl at 10 g per sq m plus a small amount of soil, mix well and broadcast, or use 1 g of Lüheng No. 1 per sq m diluted with water at 300 times and evenly spray it in the bed before or after sowing, or mix 1 g of Lüheng No. 1 with 15-20 kg of sieved fine soil to make poisoned soil, spread 1/3 of the poisoned soil in the seedbed, and use the remaining 2/3 of the poisoned soil to cover the seed after sowing.
4. Seed dressing with chemicals. For every 1 kg of seed, use 1-1.5 g of Lüheng No. 1 with 3-4 g of 50% thiram wettable powder or 8-10 g of Lüheng No. 3 for seed dressing, and sow immediately after dressing.
5. Seed soaking with chemicals. Soak the seeds in 10% trisodium phosphate solution for 30 minutes, or in 100 times formalin for 30 minutes, or in 500 times 50% carbendazim solution for 2 hours.
