"Qizha Qie No. 3" is a new eggplant variety bred by the Qiqihar City Vegetable Research Institute, and has passed review by the provincial crop variety approval committee. 1. Characteristics and traits. This variety is of the extremely early-maturing type; in Heilongjiang Province it takes only about 15 days from flowering to harvest. Plant height is 65 cm, the fruit is blackish purple, long club-shaped, fruit length 25 cm, fruit diameter (transverse diameter) 4.5 cm, single fruit weight 115 g, the flesh is greenish white, the early yield accounts for more than 60% of the total yield, an increase of 19% over the control Long Qie No. 1, the quality is excellent and it is disease-resistant, the incidence of Verticillium wilt is more than 20% lower than that of the control, the yield per 667 sq m is 3300 kg, an increase of 18% over the control, and its comprehensive economic traits rank first among local purple long eggplants.

2. Key points of cultivation techniques. In the central and southern regions of Heilongjiang Province, the sowing period is in early to mid-March, using nutrient pot seedling raising, with 50 g of seed per 667 sq m; the planting period is preferably late May, and it is suitable for plastic film mulching cultivation. The planting row spacing and plant spacing are 65 cm x (28-30) cm, with about 4100 plants maintained per 667 sq m, using two-branch pruning; during the growth period, attention should be paid to controlling pests and diseases such as aphids, red spider mites, and Verticillium wilt.
