Detailed Introduction to the Lianmai No. 2 Wheat Variety
Variety source: Introduced from Japan by the Jinzhou District Seed Company.
Characteristics: This variety has wide adaptability and strong tillering ability. The plant is relatively short, with an average height of 80 cm. The leaves are long and broad. It has a high heading rate. The spike is square-conical in shape, with no awns and white glumes. The number of grains per spike is 40-50, and the 1000-grain weight is 33 g. It is cold-tolerant and tolerant of poor soil, and highly resistant to leaf rust and powdery mildew.
Cultivation points: It is not tolerant of high density or high fertilizer and water levels during planting. During field management, fertilizer and water should be applied appropriately, with the main approach being "promote early growth and control late growth." The effective spikes and grains per mu are about 480,000.
Trial and demonstration situation: In trials in Jinzhou District, under medium-to-upper fertility and fertilizer-water cultivation conditions, the yield per mu reached 496 kg.
