I. Yield Performance In the 1999-2000 variety comparison trials, the yields per mu were 375 kg and 388.7 kg respectively, an increase of 5.3% and 7.9% over the control Chuanmai 28. In 2001, it entered the provincial regional trial, ranking first in Group B, with an average yield per mu of 377.6 kg, an increase of 14.37% over the control Chuanmai 28; over the two years of regional trials, 21 out of 22 test locations showed increased yield, with an average yield per mu of 344.2 kg, an increase of 18.5% over the control Chuanmai 28. In the provincial production trial, all six locations showed increased yield, an increase of 16.7% over the control Chuanmai 28, and in the large-plot comparison trial, the yield per mu reached 488 kg. In December 2003, it passed the approval of the Sichuan Provincial Crop Variety Approval Committee.

II. Variety Characteristics This variety is spring-type and early-maturing, with a whole growth period of about 185 days. The seedlings are green and semi-erect, with moderate vigor. The plant height is 87 cm, the tillering ability is moderate, the spike-forming rate is high, the plant shape is slightly loose, and the yellowing and color change at maturity are good. The spike is rectangular, with long awns and white glumes. The spike length is 11-14 cm, and the number of spikelets per spike is 20-23. The middle spikelets set 3-5 grains, and the number of grains per spike is 40-50. The grains are white, plump, oval-shaped, with a relatively shallow ventral groove, floury to vitreous, and the 1000-grain weight is 45-50 g.

Quality performance: test weight 766 g/L, crude protein (dry basis) 15.5%, wet gluten (%, 14% moisture basis) 40.7%, dry gluten (%, 14% moisture basis) 13.0%, water absorption 56.8%, dough stability time 30 minutes. In August 2002, quality analysis conducted by the Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, gave a noodle score of 85 points.

Disease resistance: The results of three consecutive years of follow-up resistance identification by the Sichuan Provincial Plant Protection station showed moderate resistance to stripe rust.

III. Main Advantages

1. Good grain commodity quality, excellent quality, and meets market demand. The grains are white-skinned, uniform and plump, with good luster, and the 1000-grain weight is 45-50 g. The quality test results meet the medium-gluten @#@245@#@ quality standard, suitable for making high-quality noodles, steamed buns, and the like.

2. Outstanding high yield and strong adaptability.

3. Large spikes, many grains, good field agronomic traits, and strong disease resistance.

IV. Suitable Promotion Areas It can be planted in all ecological wheat regions of Sichuan.

Special statement: This variety is exclusively produced and operated by Sichuan Chengdu Queseed Seedling Co., Ltd.
