Introduction and Characteristics of the Yangmai 158 Wheat Variety

Yangmai 158 is a breakthrough @#@245@#@ new variety that combines high yield, multiple resistances, good quality, and broad adaptability. It is suitable for planting in parts of the lower and middle reaches of the Yangtze River under different terrains, soil types, and cropping systems with moderate to good fertility and water conditions.

This product has successively participated in comparative trials in Jiangsu, Anhui, Xinyang in Henan, Shengxian in Zhejiang, Xinshao in Hunan, Hubei, and other locations, and ranked among the top in all of them. It increased yield by 14.86% compared with Yangmai 5, by 20.46% compared with Een 1, and by 28.36% compared with Zhemei 1. The average yield per mu is 350.76% kg, and in large-scale production it generally increases yield by 35-60 kg compared with Yangmai 5.

Yangmai 158 has better resistance to Fusarium head blight than Yangmai 5, reaching a level of moderate resistance or above; its resistance to powdery mildew reaches a moderate resistance level, significantly better than Yangmai 5, and it is a slow-mildewing variety; it is only lightly susceptible to sheath blight. It has good lodging resistance, suffers light freeze damage, and has strong recovery capacity after freeze damage; it is moisture-tolerant, fills grain quickly, tolerates high-temperature forced ripening, and has good ripening appearance.

Yangmai 158 has been promoted in 8 provinces and cities nationwide, with a cumulative planting area of 59.2248 million mu, increasing grain output by 2.76 billion kg and creating social and economic benefits of 3.0638 billion yuan.
