What are the methods for temporarily storing wet wheat?
1. Physical preservation method, also called the plastic film sealed preservation method or simply the sealing method. According to tests, this method generally allows safe storage for 7-8 days.
There are two specific approaches:
(1) Use non-toxic, airtight plastic bags (or porcelain jars), fill them with wet wheat, then tie the openings tightly to seal.
(2) According to the amount of wet wheat, choose a plastic film of appropriate size, cover it over the wheat pile, and pack and seal the edges tightly with soil.
To further improve the mildew prevention effect, you can also mix an appropriate amount of fresh poplar branches and leaves into the wheat pile at a ratio of 1:500.
2. Chemical preservation method. Mix food vinegar or bleaching powder at a ratio of 1:500, or table salt at a ratio of 1.5-2:100, evenly with the wet wheat, then cover and seal tightly; this generally allows safe storage for more than 10 days.
