Introduction to the Characteristics and Traits of the Lidao No.1 Rice Variety

Characteristics and traits: The whole growth period is 170 days, belonging to a mid-to-late maturing variety, plant height 115 cm, panicle length 22 cm, average number of grains per panicle 120, seed setting rate around 90%, 1000-grain weight 28 g, large panicles and large grains, relatively strong tillering ability. Heading in early August, uniform heading, fast grain filling, can fully utilize the effective accumulated temperature and sunlight of September, flag leaves erect, mature with green stems and leaves. Tested by the Rice and Rice Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Testing Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, moisture 12.0%, crude protein 9.11%, amylose 17.56%, brown rice rate 82.32%, milled rice rate 74.99%, head rice rate 73.59%, chalky rice rate 30%, chalkiness degree 1.18, chalkiness size 4%, gel consistency 100 mm, gelatinization temperature 7/<70，透明度0.839，长宽比1.73。1998年―2000年连续3年委托市植保所进行抗病性鉴定：抗苗瘟，抗穗颈稻瘟，抗叶瘟，感枝梗瘟，中抗纹枯病。

Yield performance: In the 1998 Tianjin municipal regional trial, the average yield per mu was 589.9 kg, ranking sixth among the 12 tested varieties, an increase of 41 kg over the control Jindao 1187, or 7.5%. In the 1999 Tianjin municipal regional trial, the average yield per mu was 540.96 kg, ranking sixth among the 11 tested varieties, an increase of 40 kg over the control Jindao 1187, or 8%, and an increase of 9.8 kg over the control Zhongzuo 93, or 1.8%. In 2000, participating in the municipal rice production trial, the yield per mu was 531.8 kg, a decrease of 12.4 kg compared with the control Zhongzuo 93, or 2.3%.

Key points of cultivation techniques: Seed disinfection should be carried out before sowing to prevent seed-borne diseases. Sow in early to mid-April, transplant seedlings in mid-to-late May, seedling bed sowing rate below 70 kg; transplanting spacing 26 cm x 16 cm or 30 cm x 16 cm, adopt wide-row sparse transplanting technique, 4-5 seedlings per hill, basic seedlings 52,000-72,000, maximum tiller number per mu 200,000-250,000, effective panicles per mu 190,000-230,000; adopt the method of heavy fertilization in the early stage to promote population development, with the early-stage fertilizer application accounting for 65% of the total pure nitrogen amount, pay attention to the control of rice stem borers and panicle branch rice blast.

Adaptation range: Can be cultivated as spring rice in Tianjin City.
