What is low-sugar rice? Introducing this miraculous rice variety
Low-sugar rice is a low-sugar-type rice variety bred by Japanese scientists through years of effort. It is also the only new type of rice variety in the world with an outstanding blood-sugar-lowering effect. It has thus opened a new path for lowering blood sugar through dietary therapy. It has attracted widespread attention from scientists and diabetes patients around the world.
Low-sugar rice combines both food and medicinal uses, and its most prominent characteristic is that its protein is rich in "GLP-1," which can greatly increase insulin secretion in the human body. This achieves the goal of inhibiting blood sugar elevation. It changes the current situation in which diabetes treatment relies solely on drugs. It brings a relaxed, simple treatment method to diabetes patients who have long endured the torment of medication. Patients only need to eat one bowl of rice a day to intake 500 mg of "GLP-1." Its therapeutic effect is almost equivalent to taking medicine. Experiments show that the total effective rate is above 90%. It is a safe green rice variety. It is warmly welcomed by a broad range of consumers. Its potential for development and utilization is enormous.
In 2003, the Rice Breeding Center of the National Agricultural Science and Technology Park in Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province, introduced this variety into China for the first time. After a year of regional trials, it has been shown that, in addition to its good blood-sugar-lowering effect, low-sugar rice also inherits the excellent traits of Japanese rice. It has shown good adaptability and stress resistance in both the southern and northern rice-growing regions of China, and it has excellent grain quality and super-high yield. Recently, it has passed acceptance by an expert group organized by the state. All indicators far exceed those of the varieties currently mainly cultivated in China. Its recommendation prospects are very promising. Its specific performance is now introduced as follows:
The whole growth period of low-sugar rice is 135 days, and the plant height is 95 cm. The seedlings are uniform, the stems are thick and upright, and the leaf color is deep green and upright in orientation. It has strong tillering ability and resistance to lodging. It has large panicles and full grains, with an average of 120 grains per panicle, a 1000-grain weight of 30 grams, and a yield per hectare of up to 11,000 kg. Its yield-increasing potential is great. It requires little water and is a typical water-saving rice. It is highly resistant to rice blast and tolerant to fertilizer, salt and alkali, and cold, and can be planted throughout China. Cultivation and management are simple and generally the same as for ordinary rice.
