How much is a jin of Dictamnus dasycarpus seeds? Detailed planting methods

Dictamnus dasycarpus, also known as Bai Xian Pi, Ba Gu Niu, Shan Mu Dan and so on, is the root bark of the perennial herbaceous plants Dictamnus dasycarpus and Dictamnus angustifolius of the Rutaceae family. It is mainly produced in Liaoning, Hebei, Sichuan, Jiangsu and other places. As a medicine it has the effects of clearing heat and drying dampness, dispelling wind and removing toxin, and its cultivation value is very high. Let us take a look together at Dictamnus dasycarpus seed prices and planting methods!
How much is a jin of Dictamnus dasycarpus seeds?
The price of Dictamnus dasycarpus seeds is about 800 to 1200 yuan per jin, but it varies depending on seed quality, place of origin and purchase quantity. Dictamnus dasycarpus mostly grows on sunny mountain slopes, forest edges and low shrub thickets on sandy-stony soil, on hilly earth slopes or in flat shrub thickets, grassland or sparse forest, and is also commonly seen on limestone mountains. It has strong adaptability, prefers warm and humid environments, likes sunlight, tolerates severe cold and drought, but does not tolerate waterlogging. In production it is mainly propagated by seed, first raising seedlings in a concentrated bed, then dividing and transplanting after 1 to 2 years of growth.
Sowing methods for Dictamnus dasycarpus
1. Choosing the seedling bed: The seedling bed for Dictamnus dasycarpus should be chosen as level ground or gentle slope with sandy loam soil that has sufficient sunlight, fertile and loose texture and good drainage. Low-lying, easily waterlogged, saline-alkali or heavy clay land is not suitable, and it is best to have irrigation and drainage conditions.
2. Autumn sowing method: Autumn sowing of Dictamnus dasycarpus is carried out from early October to early November. Mix the seeds evenly with 3 times their volume of fine river sand and broadcast sow, using about 20 grams per sq m, cover with 1 cm of fine soil, then cover with 1 to 2 cm of Chinese pine or larch pine needles.
3. Spring sowing method: Spring sowing of Dictamnus dasycarpus is carried out from late April to mid-May. Mix the seeds evenly with 3 times their volume of fine river sand and broadcast sow, using about 20 grams per sq m, cover with 1 cm of fine soil, then cover with 1 to 2 cm of Chinese pine or larch pine needles.
Planting methods for Dictamnus dasycarpus
1. Choosing the site: The transplanting site for Dictamnus dasycarpus should be chosen as gentle slope land with deep soil and good drainage. In mountainous areas, sunny slope wasteland, orchards and the inter-rows of young planted forests can be used for cultivation, and the low shrub spaces of tussah silkworm farms and hazelnut orchards can also be used for cultivation.
2. Land preparation: For the Dictamnus dasycarpus planting site, combine deep plowing and apply 1500 to 2000 kg of decomposed farmyard manure per mu. After raking fine, make beds 100 to 1200 cm wide, with the length depending on the terrain, generally 20 to 30 m is suitable, and the working path between beds is 40 cm wide.
3. Transplanting: The planting depth of Dictamnus dasycarpus depends on the size of the root system of the transplanted seedlings. Place the seedlings in the transplanting trench with the terminal bud facing upward, and the terminal bud should be 1 to 2 cm below the bed surface. Spread the roots out with a plant spacing of 35 to 40 cm. After placing them, cover with soil, level the bed surface after covering, and press lightly.
4. Weeding: In the first two years after transplanting Dictamnus dasycarpus, the plants are small, so on the principle of removing weeds as soon as they are seen, weed 3 to 4 times each year. After 3 years the plants have already grown very tall, and weed damage has less effect on them, so the number of weedings is relatively reduced.
5. Fertilizing: For Dictamnus dasycarpus, topdress twice in late May and early June, applying 800 to 1000 kg of farmyard manure per mu or 8 to 10 kg of urea. After the Beginning of Autumn, spray once with 0.3% to 0.5% monopotassium phosphate foliar fertilizer.
Pest and disease control for Dictamnus dasycarpus
1. Downy mildew
[Symptoms] The disease begins in March and mostly occurs on the leaves. Brown spots first appear on the leaves, gradually producing a layer of downy mildew-like substance on the underside of the leaves, causing the leaves to wither and die.
[Control] Spray with 40% fosetyl-aluminum wettable powder 200-fold solution, or 50% ridomil 500-fold solution, or thiophanate-methyl 800-fold solution.
2. Sclerotinia disease
[Symptoms] The disease occurs in mid-March and damages the base of the stem. At first yellowish-brown or dark brown water-soaked spindle-shaped lesions appear, and in severe cases the stem base rots, the aboveground parts lodge and wither, and mycelium and sclerotia can be seen on the soil surface.
[Control] Spread 3% dimethachlon, or a mixture of lime and plant ash in a 1:3 ratio, onto the bed surface, or apply 5% chloronitroamide powder.
3. Rust disease
[Symptoms] The disease occurs in early to mid-March. At first yellow-green lesions appear on the leaves, then they turn yellowish-brown. The lesions on the underside of the leaves or on the stems bulge and release rust-colored powder.
[Control] Spray with 60% zineb wettable powder 500-fold solution, or spray with 25% triadimefon wettable powder 1000-fold solution.
4. Yellow swallowtail butterfly
[Symptoms] From June to August, a small number of yellow swallowtail butterfly larvae occasionally bite and eat the stems and leaves. The larvae feed on leaves and flower buds, making notches or holes; when damage is severe, only the flower stalks and leaf stalks remain.
[Control] Handpick them, or spray 90% trichlorfon 800-fold solution during the young larval stage, spraying once every 5 to 7 days, for 1 to 2 consecutive sprays.
