Autumn Management Methods and Technical Key Points for Shiitake Mushrooms
Shiitake mushroom, as a fungal food, is widely used in various dishes and is also one of the essential ingredients in all kinds of restaurants. Because shiitake mushroom is a fungal crop, its cultivation methods and management methods are different from those of ordinary vegetables. After the beginning of autumn, the management methods for shiitake mushrooms should also be appropriately changed. So how should shiitake mushrooms be managed in autumn when they are cultivated? Today, the editor brings you the autumn management methods for shiitake mushrooms. Let's take a look!

1. Spawn running
The growth and maturation period of shiitake mushroom is relatively short, about two months. After inoculation, the shiitake mushroom should be immediately transferred to the spawn-running room for spawn running. Control the temperature and humidity of the spawn-running room well. The temperature fluctuation range should be controlled at about 24-26 degrees, and the humidity must not exceed 65%. Within one week after inoculation, the mushroom bags must not be turned, ventilation of the spawn-running room should be prevented, and the spawn-running room should be kept in a dark environment. During spawn running, the piles should be turned about once a week. When turning the piles, pay attention to the force used and do not damage the shiitake mushrooms. Also pay attention to checking the condition of each mushroom bag to see whether there is contaminated mold or dirt. If found, alcohol and formaldehyde can be used to seal the affected area.
2. Color conversion
There are also certain requirements for the color conversion time of the mushroom bags, because the color conversion time of shiitake mushrooms directly determines the fruiting time and yield of shiitake mushrooms. When spawn running is successful and the mycelium matures, the color of the mushrooms will gradually deepen, and yellow water droplets will also appear on the surface. This means that the shiitake mushrooms have roughly entered the color conversion period. After entering the color conversion period, the amount of diffused light in the spawn-running room should be increased, the permeability should be improved, and the covering film should be opened and closed appropriately. Let the spawn-running room be in a dry yet wet environment to promote the color conversion of shiitake mushrooms and improve their quality and yield.
3. Mushroom induction
Shiitake mushrooms need a relatively low-temperature environment when fruiting, and they are a type of mushroom that fruits under low and fluctuating temperatures. Therefore, when the mushroom bags have passed the color conversion period and successfully completed color conversion, the mushroom bags should be carefully and gently moved out of the spawn-running room to a cool place. After placing them, cover the shiitake mushrooms with soft straw, then sprinkle an appropriate amount of water on the straw for moisture retention to ensure that the shiitake mushrooms can fruit well. After covering, they cannot be covered all the time, because there is a temperature difference between day and night, so we should cover them during the day and then cover them again at night. Continue this for about a week, with the purpose of sealing the mushrooms to induce fruiting.
4. Fruiting
The temperature in autumn is very suitable for the growth of mycelium. About 3-4 days after mushroom induction, place the mushroom bags that have already fruited onto the mushroom shed, paying attention to the distance between the mushroom bags, and continue until all mushroom induction is successful. After all are placed in the mushroom shed, cut open the film around the mushroom buds and begin the mushroom squatting work. During the mushroom squatting period, the film must not be covered for one week. When the young mushrooms grow to the size of a peanut, flower induction can begin. After flower induction, choose a time when the temperature is relatively high to splash water on the ground surface to increase the growth rate of the fruiting bodies, then appropriately uncover the film at night to let the caps be in a dry environment, promote the splitting of the caps, and speed up the fruiting of shiitake mushrooms.
The above are the autumn management methods for shiitake mushrooms. Cultivating shiitake mushrooms is relatively troublesome, and everyone also needs a lot of patience and correct management methods during the cultivation process. Do not cultivate blindly, otherwise the shiitake mushrooms will be unable to adapt to the growing environment and cultivation will fail. That is all for today's introduction.
