Green Soybean Cultivation Methods

Green soybean is a relatively important food crop in China, with strong adaptability to the environment, and it is grown throughout the country. The most famous green soybean producing area is Northeast China. Green soybeans are rich in nutrients; eating them can help maintain blood vessel elasticity, lower blood cholesterol levels, and nourish the liver and stomach. They also have certain therapeutic effects on prostatitis, liver cancer, skin cancer, and more. So how do you grow green soybeans? Today, the editor brings you the methods for growing green soybeans. Those who are interested can take a look.

1. Seed selection and land preparation

Green soybeans have relatively strong resistance in all respects. Generally, we only need to select seeds that are plump and free from pest and disease damage. Second, seeds that have been stored for too many years cannot be used, as their germination rate is very low. In addition, green soybeans are divided into two types: green seed coat with green cotyledon green soybeans and green seed coat with yellow cotyledon green soybeans. You can choose the variety most suitable for planting according to market conditions. Generally, use soil that is relatively loose, well-drained, and whose previous crop was not beans, melons, or solanaceous vegetables. When preparing the land, plow deeply, clean up pest eggs remaining in the field, then spread sufficient base fertilizer and mix it evenly before planting.

2. Sowing and seedling raising

There are actually two sowing methods. The first is hole sowing, which is to sow three to four seeds at an appropriate density in prepared soil, cover them, and wait for emergence. The second is sowing and raising seedlings. First, evenly scatter the seeds in a seedbed for seedling raising. After a period of emergence management, the seedlings can be transplanted and planted. The sowing time for green soybeans is generally from the end of May to the beginning of July each year. Sowing during this period results in a higher emergence rate.

3. Transplanting and planting out

Before planting, an appropriate amount of NPK compound fertilizer can be spread in the field. This can increase yield, improve the quality of green soybeans, and increase their commercial value. Then plant at a density of 50 cm per row and 45 cm per plant. Also, when planting, 1 gram of carbofuran can be spread beside each plant, which can control some underground pests.

4. Field management

One week after planting, check the growth of the green soybean seedlings in the field. If dead plants appear, replant them promptly, and water and fertilize to ensure a full stand of seedlings in the field. Second, after the green soybean seedlings survive and grow new branches and roots, we need to fertilize. During this period, nitrogen fertilizer and potassium fertilizer are mainly used. At the same time, water should be applied to dilute the nutrient concentration so as not to damage the roots of the green soybeans. At the same time, carry out intertillage and weeding to promote nutrient absorption. In the later stage, that is, the flowering and pod-setting stage, potassium fertilizer is mainly used, and an appropriate amount of foliar fertilizer also needs to be sprayed.

5. Pest and disease control

The disease that harms green soybeans the most is downy mildew. We can prevent it by strengthening field management. At the same time, in the early stage of the disease, chlorothalonil can be used for control, once a week, spraying two to three times. The main pests are bean pod borer and fruit borer. We can use dimethoate emulsion and fenvalerate for spraying and killing respectively, or we can use trichlorfon and phorate granules, and the effect is also very good.

6. Timely harvesting

Pay attention to the harvesting time of green soybeans. Generally, we need to harvest when the pods are relatively plump and the pods are slightly yellow-green. We cannot wait until the pods turn yellow and old before harvesting, because the green soybeans harvested this way will no longer be tender. At the same time, we also need to keep seeds. The pods kept for seed must be harvested only when they are very hard. Of course, we also cannot wait until the pods split open to harvest, as the loss would then be relatively great.
