It is currently the sowing time for autumn cilantro, but because this coincides with the rainy season, some vegetable growers do not know how to manage cilantro during the seedling stage. The three key points for autumn cilantro seedling-stage management are introduced as follows:

First, cilantro has a relatively long germination period, taking about 9-10 days from sowing to emergence. During the cilantro sprouting stage, if there is sudden clearing after rain, a crust can easily form on the seedbed, seriously affecting the emergence rate of cilantro. Vegetable growers can water lightly once to ensure soil aeration and help emergence.

Second, when cilantro grows to 4-5 cm tall, thinning is needed. Vegetable growers can thin according to a plant spacing of 3-4 cm to ensure cilantro has enough growing space. The seedlings kept should be uniform in size to make management easier. While thinning, field weeds should also be removed.

Third, cilantro has relatively few diseases. Because it is grown in open fields, and now is also a period of high pest incidence, vegetable growers should focus on pest prevention. They can use 0.5% emamectin benzoate 4000-fold solution or 2.5% Caixi suspension concentrate 1000-fold solution for prevention, applying it once every 5-7 days.
