1. Seedbed preparation: The seedling-raising period for autumn-winter tomatoes in a solar greenhouse coincides with the hot, rainy season. The seedbed should be capable of preventing rain and waterlogging, providing ventilation, and lowering temperature. Seedlings must be raised under film-covered conditions so they can adapt to greenhouse conditions. It is best to choose a dry site with good ventilation and set up a 1.5-2 m high arched shed, build a 1-1.5 m wide seedling bed inside the shed, apply 20 kg of decomposed farmyard manure per sq m, dig 10 cm deep, and rake the bed surface level. To avoid strong light and high temperature, it is best to install shade netting, or use other methods to shade and cool.
    2. Sowing: Irrigate the seedling bed thoroughly. After the water infiltrates, sow in holes at a spacing of 10-12 cm between plants and rows, sow 2-3 seeds per hole, and cover with 1 cm of nutrient soil. Keep the bed surface moist before emergence.
    3. Seedling-stage management: After emergence, keep one vigorous seedling per hole and cut off all the rest. Avoid drought during the seedling stage and maintain air-dried moisture. Spray aphid-control pesticide once every 7 days to prevent the spread of viral disease. Autumn-winter tomato seedlings are raised in about 30 days into suitable vigorous seedlings with 4-5 leaves and a plant height of 20-25 cm.
