Control Methods and Technical Key Points for Excessive Growth of Greenhouse Potatoes
Mepiquat chloride: During the bud stage to flowering stage of potatoes, foliar spraying of 60-120 mg/L mepiquat chloride (use the lower concentration limit at the bud stage) can inhibit the growth of the aboveground part of the plant, increase yield, and increase the proportion of large and medium tubers. Chlormequat chloride: During the plant bud stage to early flowering stage, use a 2000-2500 mg/L chlormequat chloride solution for foliar spraying at 50 L/mu, which can make the aboveground part grow robustly, avoid excessive growth, promote earlier tuber formation, increase the proportion of large tubers, and raise yield.
Uniconazole: Use a 30-70 mg/L uniconazole solution and spray it on the leaves during the potato flowering stage (that is, when the tubers are expanding). This can shorten the internodes of the stems and vines, make the leaves dark green, delay the growth of the aboveground part, accelerate the growth of the underground tubers, and increase the number of tubers.
Paclobutrazol: When potato plants are 25-30 cm tall, spray the leaves with a 150-200 mg/L paclobutrazol solution. Use 24-32 g of 15% wettable powder per mu, or 14.4-19.2 mL of 25% emulsifiable concentrate, add 40 L of water, and evenly spray it onto the plant leaves with a sprayer to control excessive growth of stems and leaves. From the late growth stage to the tuber-setting stage of potato plants, spray a 100 mg/L paclobutrazol solution at 50 L/mu, which can promote tuber enlargement, increase the proportion of large and medium tubers, and raise yield. Before use, pay attention to selecting the concentration, and do not use too large a dose, so as not to affect the growth of the subsequent crop.
