Three measures to control excessive vigor in zucchini; growers should do this
1. Soak seeds in 10% trisodium phosphate solution for 20 minutes, or in 55°C warm water for 30 minutes. 2. In the early stage of disease, use 1.5% Zhibingling emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times dilution, or 20% Virus A wettable powder at 500 times dilution, or NS-83 resistance enhancer at 100 times dilution, or 0.5% Antiviral Agent No. 1 at 250-300 times dilution, or 1000 times potassium permanganate solution...
First, temperature management is the primary factor in controlling excessive vigor. In the early fruiting stage of zucchini, the suitable temperature for daytime growth and development is 18-22°C, and the nighttime temperature is 8-10°C. If the daytime temperature is above 25°C, photosynthesis products accumulate less while consumption is greater, and zucchini is prone to excessive vegetative growth. Therefore, when planting zucchini in the autumn-delayed or overwintering crop, when the temperature at planting time is still high, management should focus on temperature control rather than raising temperatures to promote plant growth. The temperature control measure is to strengthen ventilation, and never close the front-face ventilation openings too early.Second, avoid excessive soil moisture. After zucchini is planted and the seedlings have revived, management should focus on controlling water to promote rooting. If the soil is not too dry, do not rush to water before fruiting. Of course, if the plants are severely wilted due to lack of water, small amounts of water should be run through to ensure normal plant growth. Never flood irrigate, which causes excessive vegetative growth. At the same time, after the first fruit of zucchini has set, the amount of the first watering should not be too large either, as too much can cause fruit abortion, which in turn leads to excessive vegetative growth. To promote the smooth progress of reproductive growth, watering can be done by applying small amounts of water.
In addition, control nitrogen and supplement potassium in the later stage. After zucchini enters the fruiting stage, it requires a large amount of potassium fertilizer, so when applying fertilizer, attention should also be paid to the use of high-potassium fertilizers. Do not use excessive high-nitrogen fertilizers, to avoid excessive nitrogen causing excessive vegetative growth. Of course, if zucchini is planted too early and the early temperature is too high, hormones can also be used for regulation, but they must not be used excessively. In particular, paclobutrazol is even less suitable for repeated continuous use. Generally, 5-7 days after zucchini seedlings have revived, spray plants with 15% paclobutrazol at 1500 times dilution, but do not spray only the growing point, to regulate plant growth.
