Symptom Identification and Control Methods of Wheat Rosette Stunt

Edible Gardening 0 views
I. Disease Development Pattern Wheat rosette stunt is a viral disease spread by the vector Laodelphax striatellus (small brown planthopper). There are two peak periods of virus transmission and infection by the small brown planthopper on wheat: the first peak period is after wheat emergence, and the second peak period is after wheat turns green. As temperatures gradually rise, the overwintering generation of small brown planthoppers begins to feed and move on wheat seedlings, spreading the virus.

II. Control Methods (1) When wheat turns green, thoroughly remove weeds in the wheat field and its surroundings to eliminate the environment suitable for small brown planthopper survival, thereby reducing virus-transmitting insect sources. (2) Irrigate the green-turning water at the appropriate time. Irrigating the green-turning water has a killing effect on small brown planthoppers and can reduce virus-transmitting insect sources. (3) Spray pesticide for control. When the spring temperature stabilizes at 5°C, pesticide spraying should begin. Use 40% omethoate emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times dilution, or 50% phoxim at 1000 times dilution, spraying 50-75 kg of solution per mu, once every 5-7 days, for 2 consecutive sprays. When spraying, areas within 5 m around the wheat field should all be sprayed. Areas near roadsides, ditches, field edges and borders should be given particular attention for control.
