Detailed Explanation of Chemical Weed Control Techniques in Asparagus Fields

Asparagus has wide row spacing and is prone to weed growth. During the white asparagus harvest period, ridges are formed, the spears do not emerge from the ground, and chemical weed control is also difficult to implement.
The main weeds in asparagus fields include lamb's quarters (goosefoot), field bindweed, purple nutsedge (three-square grass), thistle, crabgrass, barnyardgrass, and green foxtail. During the spring harvest period, contact herbicides are mostly used. In the early harvest stage when weeds are small, spray once with "Caojian" (paraquat), using 100 milliliters per tank, and spray the solution evenly onto the weed leaf surfaces. In the mid-harvest stage when perennial weeds spread, use glyphosate-series herbicides (10% glyphosate, 48% Keda Ling, Nongjiale 747, etc.), and prepare the spray solution according to the size and quantity of the weeds and the effective ingredient content of the herbicide. Generally, use 800 milliliters of 10% glyphosate per tank, and two tanks per mu. When perennial weeds are severe, spray a second application of glyphosate after 10-15 days; under normal conditions, perennial weeds can be completely eliminated in 2-3 days. When spraying glyphosate-type herbicides, note: first, prepare adjuvants and stickers; second, spray before 9 a.m. or after 4 p.m., avoiding the high temperatures at noon; third, do not use saline-alkali water or turbid water.
After the asparagus harvest ends and before removing the ridges, spray paraquat once more, killing all weeds in the field before removing the ridges. Immediately after removing the ridges, apply a pre-emergence herbicide to the soil surface, using 48% trifluralin at 150-200 milliliters per mu, with 30-45 kilograms of water, and incorporate into the soil after spraying. In fields with many broadleaf weeds, "Tianpu" or "Shitianbu" can be used for pre-emergence weed control, which can effectively control both monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous weeds.
During the vigorous growth stage of asparagus, use "Xianchu" in the early stage to spray and eliminate small weeds, and in the later stage use contact herbicides for directed spraying, following the product instructions during use.
