What are the control measures for eggplant flower drop in greenhouses?
There are many causes of eggplant flower drop, such as excessive vegetative growth, overly weak plant growth, humidity that is too dry or too high, and too high a temperature or insufficient light can all cause eggplant flower drop. There are many causes of eggplant flower drop, such as excessive vegetative growth, overly weak plant growth, humidity that is too dry or too high, and too high a temperature or insufficient light can all cause eggplant flower drop. It is suggested that vegetable growers determine the cause of flower drop based on the actual situation in the greenhouse last year, and then take corresponding measures to prevent the occurrence of eggplant flower drop again this year.
Control measures for excessive vegetative growth: carry out timely seedling hardening of the plants, properly control water and fertilizer during the seedling hardening period, and cultivate and loosen the soil, so that vegetative growth shifts to reproductive growth in a timely manner.
Control measures for overly weak plant growth: select strong seedlings when transplanting, and at the same time increase fertilizer application to promote root development and strengthen the seedlings, and carry out flower thinning and fruit limiting management according to the growth condition of the plants.
Control measures for insufficient light: increase the light duration and the amount of light received. On sunny days, uncover the straw curtain early and cover it late to extend the light duration; on cloudy days, the curtain should also be uncovered to absorb scattered light, and on rainy days the time for uncovering the curtain should be shortened. Measures such as hanging reflective screens on the back wall and laying them on the ground, and using fluorescent lamps for supplemental lighting at night, can also be adopted to increase light.
Temperature control: during the flowering period, the daytime temperature should be controlled at 25°C-30°C, and at night it should be lowered to 15°C-17°C.
Humidity control: air humidity is generally around 80%; when dry, irrigate promptly to keep the soil moist. When humidity is too high, ventilate promptly to remove moisture, and avoid flood irrigation that increases humidity.
