Detailed Explanation of Key Field Management Techniques for Peppers
Peppers are a very common spicy vegetable in our daily lives. They contain relatively high levels of vitamins and other nutrients, and they are extremely adaptable to the environment, being grown all across the country. To achieve high yields in pepper cultivation, scientific field management is indispensable, so today I want to share with you the field management techniques for peppers, hoping they will be helpful to everyone.

1. Management During the Seedling Stage
Management during the seedling stage is the foundation of pepper growth. During the seedling stage, we mainly need to control field moisture, temperature, and other aspects. After pepper seedlings emerge, we need to water them promptly so they can grow quickly. Next, the field temperature should be controlled at around 15 to 20 degrees; temperatures that are too low or too high will both affect the growth and development of pepper seedlings.
2. Management During the Growing Period
The growing period mainly refers to the stage from transplanting peppers to before they set fruit, which all falls under the growing period. During this stage, we mainly need to manage field weeds as well as water and fertilizer issues. After transplanting peppers, water them once, which can improve the survival rate of the peppers. Next, wait until the pepper seedlings grow new roots, branches, and leaves, and when they reach about 15 cm, carry out a second watering along with intertillage and weeding, and combine this with fertilization at the same time. This fertilization should mainly use urea and compound fertilizer, though manure and urine water can of course also be used as a substitute. Finally, based on the condition of the pepper seedlings, the moisture level of the field soil, and the growth of weeds, carry out reasonable weeding, watering, fertilization, and drainage.
3. Management During the Fruiting Stage
When peppers are setting fruit, the temperature is also gradually rising, so during this period we need to do a good job of cooling management. In the early fruiting stage, we only need to fertilize, water, and weed according to the growth condition of the peppers, mainly using potassium fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer. By the time peppers reach the peak fruiting stage, the temperature is already very high. To prevent the pepper seedlings from being scorched, we should ideally water twice a day. The first watering is best done in the morning before the sun rises, and the second is done after the sun sets each day. At the same time, there are relatively many pests and diseases during this period, so prevention and treatment management should be carried out promptly to ensure the yield and quality of the peppers.
4. Later Stage Management
Later stage management mainly refers to the period after the peak fruiting stage of peppers, which belongs to later stage management. After the peak fruiting stage, the fruit-setting amount of peppers will gradually decline, but we can delay the fruiting period through scientific field management, thereby ensuring the pepper yield to a certain extent. We mainly achieve this effect through fertilization. During this period, we can apply an appropriate amount of nitrogen fertilizer and also spray foliar fertilizer, which can prevent the pepper seedlings from aging and promote the growth of new branches, thereby increasing the fruit-setting amount.
