Chive maggots: during spring irrigation, pesticides can be added to kill them; in late April, when adults emerge, spray with 600 times diluted Mieshabi; in early May, use 40% omethoate 800 times diluted solution to drench the roots for control. Mole crickets and white grubs are underground pests: during their peak damage period in March, April and May, use 150 g of 90% trichlorfon in 30 times diluted solution in the chive beds, mix it with 5 kg of roasted wheat bran or soybean cake to make poisoned bait and scatter it among the beds, or dig bowl-sized holes every 3 to 4 m in the field, put in the poisoned bait and cover with soil, digging 1 row every about 2 m, to trap and kill them.
