How should chives grown in a greenhouse be managed? What should be noted? When growing chives in a greenhouse, note: 1. Temperature management. Chives prefer a cool environment, and the suitable temperature for growth is 15°C-24°C, so ventilation should be provided appropriately during the day. To promote sprouting, after the shed is closed, the daytime temperature should be controlled at 18°C-25°C; after sprouting, the daytime temperature should be controlled at...
How to grow bitter melon in winter? What needs attention

When growing bitter melon in winter, note:
1. Soil selection and land preparation
Choose a wind-sheltered, sunny, well-drained and easily irrigated, fertile and loose medium sandy soil with high organic matter content. After the late rice is harvested, when the soil moisture is suitable, plow once each field one week before planting, then apply 50 kg of compound fertilizer per mu, and prepare beds at a specification of 1.4 m including the ditch.
2. Variety selection
Choose white-skinned, long conical varieties with obvious protruding warty surface, thick stems, and low branching nodes; they have higher yield and better quality.
3. Greenhouse covering
The greenhouse width is about 7 m, with a height of 2.5 m at the middle from the ground; the height on both sides is 1.6 m, and 5 beds can be arranged inside the greenhouse, each bed 1.4 m wide including the ditch. A north-south orientation is better for the covering, and each greenhouse is 50-60 m long. For the greenhouse materials, factory-made all-steel greenhouse frames can be used, or bamboo can be used to build arched sheds.
4. Seed germination
Before germination, sun the seeds for 3-4 hours first, then soak the seeds in 50°C warm water for 10 minutes, then soak them in a 1/1000 carbendazim solution for 10 hours. After washing, wrap them in a wet cloth for germination. For the first two days, control the temperature at 30°C, and on the third day control it at about 20-25°C. When the sprouts grow to 2 mm, they can be sown. During germination, the ones that sprout first should be sown first.
5. Reasonable planting
Generally, the plant spacing is 0.5-0.6 m, the row spacing is 0.5 m, 2 rows are planted per bed, and the planting depth is 2 cm. Plant about 1250 plants per mu. For direct seeding, the seeds can be planted when they show white; for seedlings raised in nutrient pots, transplant when the seedling age is about 20-25 days. When planting, cover with white plastic film 0.9 m wide to suppress weed growth, raise soil temperature, and keep the soil moist.
