Loofah viral disease can be controlled by referring to the following methods:
    1. Disease symptoms
Infected young leaves show blister-like spots of uneven light and dark color with an uneven leaf surface, and the leaves are small, some obviously shrunken; infected mature leaves show yellow rings or a mosaic of alternating yellow and green; severely affected leaves become hard and brittle, and the leaf margin notches deepen. Diseased plants grow slowly and have poor fruit-setting ability, and the fruits they produce are small or distorted
    2. Disease occurrence patterns
Cucumber mosaic virus has a very wide host range, not only harming many kinds of cucurbit crops; its transmission insect vectors are various aphids, and it is also very easily transmitted by sap contact. Cucumber seeds do not carry the virus, but the seed-borne rate of melon mosaic disease caused by cucumber mosaic virus infection can be as high as 16%-18%. It is also directly related to the amount and so on, and at the same time it reduces the disease resistance of the plants, causing severe disease occurrence. In addition, rough field management, lack of fertilizer, and lack of water also worsen the severity of the disease.
    3. Control methods
    1. Fertilize reasonably, apply more farmyard manure, and do not apply nitrogen fertilizer alone, so as to prevent the melon seedlings from becoming excessively vegetative and susceptible to disease. Where conditions permit, apply 30-40 kg of plant ash per 667 sq m on the leaf surface before the dew dries, which can inactivate the virus.
    2. Thoroughly kill the whiteflies in the greenhouse. You can use 25% buprofezin (Pulifuling) emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times dilution, or 25% methyl kresoxim (Miemietemeng) emulsifiable concentrate at 1000 times dilution, or 40% imidacloprid concentrated soluble agent at 4000 times dilution.
    3. Do not plant mixed with cucumber or melon, and do not plant loofah again in fields where these cucurbits were planted last year or the year before, so as to avoid mutual virus transmission or virus transmission by nematodes.
