For early spring cilantro planting, you can refer to the following methods:
1. Land preparation and fertilization. Choose cool, loose, fertile sandy loam soil rich in organic matter. After deep plowing, sun-dry the beds. The plowing depth is generally about 25-30 cm. During plowing, apply about 5000 kg of farmyard manure. It is best to prepare the beds in autumn, level them, and harrow them fine until they are ready for sowing.
2. Seed soaking and germination before sowing. In early spring from April 5 to 10, first soak the seeds in clean water for a whole day and night, then remove them and drain off the water. A state of being half moist and not dry is more suitable. During germination, put the seeds into a plastic basin. Do not cover the basin, so it can ventilate fully. Place it in a shaded indoor spot (room temperature 20°C). During germination, turn them at least twice a day, otherwise the sprouts can easily dry out. In this way, the sprouts can emerge completely after 7-10 days.
3. Sow at the right time. After cilantro sprouts are uniform, sow from April 15 to 20. Use bed drilling. The seeding rate is 5 kg per mu. Before sowing, water thoroughly to soak the bottom soil. After sowing, rake soil over to cover them firmly, and cover with agricultural film.
4. Agricultural film management. When the temperature exceeds 15°C and the light is strong, uncover it around 8 am, and cover it again with agricultural film at 3 pm. Prevent burning the seeds and seedlings.
5. Watering. During the peak production season for cilantro, the temperature is relatively low. If watering is too frequent or too heavy, it will also lower the temperature and affect plant growth. The principle is not to water unless dry, water less in the early stage, and slightly more in the later stage. Keep the soil moist.
6. Topdressing. It is best not to topdress. If the base fertilizer is insufficient, carry out foliar topdressing about 10 days before harvest. Spray urea at a concentration of 1.5%, and it can be sprayed 2 times.
7. Harvest in time. Cilantro needs about 50-60 days from sowing to harvest. Generally, harvest once from May 25 to June 5. The yield per mu can reach about 1250 kg, with a good price and high yield and efficiency.
