For zucchini cultivation and management methods, you can refer to the following:
Before transplanting, apply sufficient base fertilizer. Apply 3000-5000 kg of high-quality farmyard manure per mu, or horse manure, sheep manure, etc.
After preparing the land, form ridges 60-65 cm apart, dig planting holes at a spacing of 40-50 cm, and transplant 2000-2500 plants per mu. You can also make flat beds 1.3 m wide, with two rows planted per bed.
When planting seedlings, plant them in water; after the water has seeped down, close the holes and straighten the vines.
The safe period for transplanting is when the soil temperature is above 13°C and the nighttime temperature is not lower than 10°C.
After the seedlings recover, topdress (apply 150-200 kg of cake fertilizer, or 50-60 kg of NPK compound fertilizer) and water with "vine-promoting water," but because the soil temperature is relatively low, do not water excessively. After that, cultivate and loosen the soil in time, without applying water or fertilizer, and wait until the first fruit grows to 10-12 cm before watering. After fruiting, generally water once every 5-7 days, just enough to keep the surface soil moist; in the rainy season, drainage is needed.
During the fruiting period, topdress along with irrigation; generally 2-3 topdressings are appropriate. Each time apply 1000-1500 kg/mu of diluted manure, or 10-15 kg/mu of ammonium carbonate.
Pay attention to water and fertilizer management. Too much water and fertilizer at the seedling stage or when the first female flower sets fruit can easily cause excessive vegetative growth; if water and fertilizer are insufficient later, yield will decrease. In addition, leaving too many fruits early can cause poor vine development and affect total yield.
