In recent years, with the promotion and application of no-till summer corn planters equipped with fertilizing devices, the use of seed fertilizer for summer corn has become increasingly common. However, due to improper application of seed fertilizer by farmers, phenomena of sprout burn or seedling burn have appeared.
The causes of seedling burn include:
First, the seed fertilizer application rate is too large. Some farmers apply a large amount of seed fertilizer when sowing.
Second, fertilizer and seeds are sown mixed together. Although the seed fertilizer application rate is not very large, the seeds and fertilizer are mixed together when sown.
Third, applying a large amount of seed fertilizer when sowing to take advantage of soil moisture is more likely to lead to the occurrence of seedling burn.
    Solutions:
    1. For seed fertilizer, a nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer is suitable, and pure nitrogen chemical fertilizer should be avoided as seed fertilizer as much as possible.
    2. The seed fertilizer application rate must be strictly controlled, generally not exceeding 10-15 kg of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer per mu.
    3. When sowing, the seed fertilizer must be applied in separate rows or layers from the seeds, 5-10 cm, and it is strictly forbidden to mix the seed fertilizer with the seeds.
    4. When sowing to take advantage of soil moisture and the soil moisture is insufficient, the seed fertilizer should be applied less or not at all. Or apply it and immediately water to moisten the topsoil.
