Mechanical scarification
Before sowing, use a rice milling machine to abrade and scarify the outer coat of Astragalus seeds, then soak the seeds in 30°C warm water or well water, changing the water morning and evening every day. The water-absorbing seed kernels germinate and swell, and when one third of them show tiny white sprouts, filter out the germinated seeds with a specially made sieve and sow them in the field.
