What is broccoli Rhizoctonia damping-off? Please provide an introduction and control methodsSymptoms of broccoli Rhizoctonia damping-off. Broccoli Rhizoctonia damping-off, also known as black root disease, is an important seedling-stage disease of broccoli. In the early stage of the disease, the root collar of the seedling turns black or constricts; when moist, grayish-white mold grows on it. After the plant is infected, within a few days the leaves wilt and dry up, and then the entire plant dies. After transplanting, it generally stops spreading. However, some fields still continue to lose seedlings. In addition, the disease can also appear as damping-off or head rot.
Broccoli Rhizoctonia damping-off can be controlled by referring to the following methods:
1. For spring cultivation, choose varieties that are not very sensitive to low temperatures in the early growth stage. Such as Luling, Ludi, Qinglu, Zaoshenglu, Bisong, Bishan, Lühua No. 2, Zhengyanshui, Shanghai No. 1, etc.
2. Cabbage seed coating and film dressing. Add 0.1% oxytetracycline or 3% of 75% chlorothalonil to the film-forming liquid, stir evenly, then mix at a ratio of 30 parts seeds to 1 part liquid, and use after drying. This can control diseases caused by seed-borne pathogens in cabbage-type vegetables. (3) Sow at the proper time; it should not be too early or too late.
