How to manage autumn-winter crop broccoli? Please explain the methodsThe management methods for autumn-winter crop broccoli can refer to the following methods:
After planting, water 1-2 times as appropriate to help the seedlings recover, carry out 3-4 times of intertillage and weeding for seedling hardening. After 7-10 days, when the weather turns cooler, the cauliflower enters a period of vigorous growth, and fertilizer and water should be applied generously. Combined with watering, apply 10-15 kg of urea per mu or 800-1000 kg of decomposed manure slurry, applied alternately, for a total of 2-3 applications. No more fertilizer should be applied after the shed is covered.
Watering should be based on keeping the soil moist, especially during the vigorous leaf growth period and the curd enlargement period, when water must not be lacking. Generally water once every 5-7 days. After mid-October, as the temperature gradually decreases, the amount of water and frequency of watering should be controlled.
Before mid-October, set up the shed frame and prepare plastic film (preferably drip-free film). In late October, cover with film and close the shed. Around the Beginning of Winter, add straw mats at night. To meet the water requirements for the entire shed-covered period, water heavily once before covering the shed, and do not water again afterward.
The key to management after covering the shed is temperature and air humidity. High temperature and high humidity not only make the plants prone to spindly growth and disease, but also result in small curds, low yield, and poor quality. Therefore, in the early stage after covering the shed, adopt generous ventilation measures by opening the vents early and closing them late. As the outside temperature gradually drops, correspondingly reduce the ventilation time and ventilation volume. Generally, start ventilating when the temperature inside the shed reaches 15°C, and keep the shed temperature from exceeding 25°C. In the afternoon, gradually reduce ventilation, and close the vents when the shed temperature drops to 15°C. On severe cold or cloudy days, uncover the straw mats late and cover them early, and do not ventilate or ventilate less.
Generally harvested from late November to early December, and delaying is not advisable to avoid frost damage.
