        Harm of bacterial brown stripe of rice:
         When infected at the seedling stage, small brown spots appear on the leaves or leaf sheaths, later expanding into purple-brown long stripes, sometimes as long as the leaf, with clear edges. Diseased seedlings wilt or diseased leaves drop off, and the plants are stunted.

        When infected at the adult plant stage, the disease first develops at the midrib of the leaf base, initially water-soaked and yellow-white, then extending along the vein up to the leaf tip and down to the base of the leaf sheath, forming yellow-brown to dark brown long stripes; the diseased tissue is brittle and breaks easily, and later the whole leaf curls and dies.
       When the leaf sheath is infected, irregular patches appear, later turning yellow-brown, and finally rotting completely. When the young heart leaf is infected, it cannot emerge and dies inside the heart bud; when pulled out there is a foul smell, and when squeezed by hand a milky white to pale yellow bacterial fluid oozes out. When infected at the booting stage, the ear bud is damaged, and the ear dries up early, or in some cases the ear neck elongates, the spikelet stalk is pale brown, curved and deformed, and the grains turn brown and are not filled.

  Control methods for bacterial brown stripe of rice:

         Control method one: spray with 20% Yekuning (Chuanhua 018) wettable powder at 6000 times dilution;

         Control method two: spray with 25% Dikushuang at 1500 to 2000 times dilution;

         Control method three: spray with 20% Shakujing (Yekujing) wettable powder at 300 to 400 times dilution (not to be used after heading);
         Control method four: at the seedling bed stage, spray with Daisenammonium at 1000 to 1500 times dilution;

         Precautions:Spraying with 2:1:500 Bordeaux mixture also has a certain control effect. For the above-mentioned chemicals, applying a second treatment 7 to 10 days after the first application gives a better control effect. To prevent artificial spread, it is best to use a motorized sprayer for control.
