How to sprout celery seeds? Methods and steps explained at once
We have all eaten celery, but few people have ever seen its seeds. The seed coat is thick and hard, and the outer layer also has oil glands, making it impermeable to water. After sowing, it sprouts extremely slowly, especially in high summer temperatures, so before planting it you need to sprout it. So do you know how to sprout celery? Come and learn with Qinnong.com.

1. Sprouting preparation
Before sowing, first place the seeds in the sun to dry for one day, then soak them in clean water for one day, changing the water two or three times in between. Then scoop the seeds out, rub them continuously with your hands to remove the material on the surface, and rinse them several times with clean water until the impurities are completely removed.
2. Clean water sprouting method
Clean water sprouting is a common sprouting method. Soak the treated seeds for 24 hours, then scoop them out, place them in a cool place to dry, and let the surface moisture evaporate. Then prepare a basin-shaped container, put the seeds in it, cover with a layer of wet cloth, and place it in a cool, ventilated area to begin sprouting. Keep the temperature between 15-20 degrees. During sprouting, turn the seeds once a day to keep temperature and humidity even, so the seeds sprout uniformly. Rinse the seeds once every two days to maintain moisture and prevent mold. After rinsing, let them air slightly. In this way, after a week, when most of the seeds show white, they can be sown.
3. Min water seed soaking and sprouting
Put the treated and prepared seeds into a cloth bag, soak them thoroughly with Min water, then lower them into a water well, but do not soak them in the water. Keep a distance of 30-50cm from the water surface. A water well is itself a low-temperature, humid environment, which is just right for seed germination. After one day, take them out and place them in a 15-20 degree environment. Wash them with clean water two or three times a day, and after two or three days they can be sown.
4. Low-temperature sprouting
Place the treated seeds in a 0-1 degree environment for three days; a refrigerator can fully do this. Then place them in a 15-20 degree environment for sprouting. The purpose of doing this is to shorten the sprouting time and make the seeds sprout uniformly.
5. Variable-temperature sprouting
Place the soaked seeds in a 15-18 degree incubator. After 12 hours, raise the temperature by 7-8 degrees, but be careful not to exceed 25 degrees. After another 12 hours, adjust the temperature back to the starting temperature. Alternate in this way every twelve hours, and after about three days they will sprout and can be sown.
