What to pay attention to when growing lingzhi

Lingzhi (reishi) is an extremely precious and rare traditional Chinese medicine. Lingzhi has great benefits for human growth and health, and its current market price is frighteningly high. Precisely because lingzhi is precious and rare, and because its market price offers high profits, growing lingzhi has very good potential prospects. So now more and more people are beginning to choose to grow lingzhi, but after all, it is a precious species, so what should be noted when growing it? Let's take a look together with the editor below!

1. Nutrition

Lingzhi is a kind of saprophytic fungus, a type of fungus. It has a strong ability to absorb and decompose lignin, cellulose, and so on, and the nutrients it needs are also relatively large. During artificial cultivation, the nutrients required by lingzhi must be satisfied. If the growth needs of lingzhi are not met, then the original nutrition of lingzhi will be greatly reduced, and its commercial value will drop severely. During cultivation, some cottonseed hulls, wheat bran, rice bran, and other crop straws can be used as raw materials.

2. Temperature

Lingzhi is a fungus that likes high temperatures. In the initial growth stage, the mycelium can withstand a growth temperature of up to 40 degrees, but the most suitable temperature is around 25 degrees. During the fruiting body development stage, the temperature should be around 23-29 degrees, but the most suitable temperature is around 25 degrees. Controlling the temperature during the growth of lingzhi well is the key that determines the final yield of lingzhi, and is one of the most important factors in the growth process of lingzhi.

3. Humidity

As everyone knows, all fungi need a large amount of water during growth and development, and of course the environment they like most is also a relatively moist one. Lingzhi is a fungus, so humidity is also very important. Of course, the humidity in the air must not be too low either. Experiments have shown that during the mycelium growth stage, when the relative humidity in the air is 70%, lingzhi develops better than when the humidity is below 70%, with fuller flesh and richer nutritional content. And when it reaches the fruiting body stage, the required humidity is even greater. The relative humidity in the air must reach at least 85% or above to ensure the normal growth of lingzhi.

4. Air

Most fungi are aerobic, and lingzhi is one of them. Carbon dioxide in the air has a great influence on the growth and development of lingzhi fruiting bodies. When the carbon dioxide concentration in the air reaches 0.5%, it has a very good effect on the growth and development of lingzhi, and can effectively promote the elongation of the stipe and also inhibit the growth of the cap. When the content reaches 1%, although lingzhi can still grow, it will form branches and antler-like shapes. If it exceeds 1%, lingzhi cannot grow normally and may even die.

5. Light

After lingzhi is planted, it is particularly sensitive to the degree of light during growth and development, because most fungi do not like sunlight, and lingzhi is no exception. Lingzhi mycelium especially dislikes light. In a completely dark environment with no light, the mycelium grows the fastest. However, during the differentiation and growth of lingzhi fruiting bodies, relatively strong scattered light is needed. The stipe and cap grow relatively quickly and robustly, and the cap is also relatively thick.

The above are the basic matters needing attention when growing lingzhi. Nowadays, people increasingly pursue a high-quality, high-level life, so naturally they will not let go of lingzhi, a traditional Chinese medicine that is highly tonifying to the human body. But it should be noted that although the lingzhi market is growing larger and the price is very enviable, growing lingzhi is different from other crops. Lingzhi is a fungus. Therefore, when everyone decides to grow lingzhi, they must master a correct growing method and consolidate their own growing techniques.
