What should be noted when planting Paris polyphylla (Chonglou)
The term "Chonglou" (Paris polyphylla) is certainly no stranger to us all, because in a very popular TV drama a few years ago there was a character named Chonglou, and everyone felt very sorry for him. But the Chonglou that I, the editor, am introducing to you today is not that Chonglou. The Chonglou I want to tell you about today is a medicinal herb, and it is itself toxic, though not highly toxic, and its efficacy is very broad, and its economic value is also fairly good. Nowadays many people grow Chonglou, so today Qinnongwang will tell you what to note when planting Chonglou.

1. Variety
The choice of superior or inferior varieties determines the level of yield and quality of Chonglou, so the choice of variety is very crucial. There are now quite a few varieties of Chonglou, so we need to choose varieties that grow fast, are easy to plant, have high yield, good quality and strong resistance. Here I, the editor, recommend two relatively good varieties for your reference: powdery Yunnan Paris polyphylla and powdery Huachonglou. These two varieties are really quite good.
2. Soil
The choice of soil for planting Chonglou is the basic condition for its growth. Choosing suitable soil will make the survival rate of Chonglou and later management much better. The land most suitable for Chonglou growth is slightly acidic soil or sandy soil. In fact, the main point is that the soil should have good permeability, strong infiltration capacity, loose texture, and sufficient nutrients, and valleys or forest areas without direct sunlight are very good choices.
3. Temperature
Chonglou's cold resistance is really quite good, because it can still grow normally in an environment of two to three degrees, but it is very sensitive to high temperatures, so the highest temperature should preferably not exceed 32 degrees, otherwise the Chonglou plants will be scorched. The most suitable temperature for Chonglou growth is around 20 degrees. At this temperature, Chonglou grows faster and develops better. In most regions of our country, temperature changes are relatively large, so when planting we need to regulate the planting temperature well through cultivation techniques.
4. Fertilizer and water
Chonglou is a rather special organism. It likes shady and humid places, but humidity must have a limit and there must be no water accumulation. If there is water accumulation, it can very easily cause root rot. So in water management, what we need to note is that watering should be carried out in Jinhua Warehouse, but the sudden humidity should preferably be kept at around 70 percent. Next, when there is a lot of natural moisture in the field, drainage should be done in time. Chonglou likes soil with more humus substrate, so for fertilizer we should preferably choose organic humus fertilizer, which helps maintain the humus substrate content in the soil and at the same time promotes the growth of Chonglou.
5. Management
Later management is also very important, because the environment where Chonglou grows is relatively fertile and humid, so there will be more weeds, and relatively speaking pests and diseases will also increase. So we need to pull out weeds in time rather than weeding by loosening the soil, which can reduce nutrient loss. Finally, we need to constantly pay attention to pests and diseases, and when they are found, use low-toxicity biological agents for control in time, because Chonglou is a medicinal herb, so excessive spraying of agents will affect its quality. Therefore, trapping and killing methods can also be used, and pesticides should be used only when there is really no other way.
