What high-yield soybean seeds are there?

Soybean, commonly known as yellow bean, is an annual herbaceous plant of the genus Glycine in the Fabaceae family. It originated in China and is cultivated throughout the country. It is also one of China's important food crops and is widely cultivated around the world. It has a cultivation history of five thousand years. It is most commonly used to make various soy products, extract soybean oil, brew soy sauce and extract protein. Let us take a look below at what high-yield soybean seeds there are!

Kendou No. 40

[Characteristics] Mainly pods set on the main stem, plant height about 70 cm. Pointed leaves, purple flowers, gray pubescence, pods brown. Seeds round, seed coat yellow, glossy, yellow hilum, 100-seed weight 17.1 g. In suitable areas, the growth period is about 117 days and requires an active accumulated temperature of about 2350°C. Field performance shows disease resistance and lodging resistance; inoculation identification shows resistance to frogeye leaf spot, moderate resistance to soybean mosaic virus strain 1, and susceptibility to strain 3.

[Yield] In 2011-2012, it participated in the regional trial of the northern spring soybean medium-early maturity group, with an average yield of 2833.5 kg per hectare, 2.8% higher than the control variety. In the 2013 production trial, the average yield was 3010.5 kg per hectare, 11.1% higher than the control variety.

[Cultivation] Generally sown in early to mid-May. Under ridge-three cultivation, retain 250,000-350,000 plants per hectare; under dense planting cultivation, retain 350,000-400,000 plants. Generally apply 150 kg diammonium phosphate, 50-75 kg potassium sulfate and 40-50 kg urea per hectare, and spray soybean-specific foliar fertilizer 1-2 times each at the flowering and pod-setting stages.

Zhonghuang No. 35

[Characteristics] The summer-sowing growth period is about 100 days, and spring sowing 121 days. Plant height 75-90 cm, effective branch number 1-2, oval leaves, white flowers, gray pubescence, mature pod color brown, pod-setting habit semi-determinate, seed shape round, yellow seed coat, yellow hilum, 100-seed weight 18-22 g. Moderately resistant to soybean mosaic virus disease and frogeye leaf spot, moderately susceptible to soybean cyst nematode disease.

[Yield] In 2004, it participated in the summer soybean variety regional trial in the northern Huang-Huai-Hai region, with an average yield of 206.0 kg per mu, 19.3% higher than the control Zaoshu 18. In the 2005 continued trial, the average yield was 204.3 kg per mu, 5.6% higher than the control Jidou 12. The two-year regional trial average yield was 205.1 kg per mu. In the 2005 production trial, the average yield was 219.1 kg per mu, 5.8% higher than the control Jidou 12.

[Cultivation] Before sowing, apply 2000-3000 kg decomposed organic fertilizer per mu; at sowing, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer as seed fertilizer; sowing rate 4-5 kg per mu; retain 12,000-16,000 plants per mu. Pay attention to drought prevention at the branching stage, flowering and pod-setting stage, and seed-filling stage.

Shengdou No. 5

[Characteristics] Determinate pod-setting habit, compact plant type. Growth period 106 days, 3 days later maturing than the control Hedou No. 12. Plant height 79.6 cm, effective branches 2.3, main stem 16 nodes, round leaves, white flowers, brown pubescence, leaves shed, pods do not shatter, seeds per plant 104, seeds oval, seed coat yellow, glossy, hilum black, 100-seed weight 19.3 g.

[Yield] In the 2012-2013 provincial summer soybean variety regional trial, the two-year average yield was 224.4 kg per mu, 7.7% higher than the control Hedou No. 12. In the 2014 production trial, the average yield was 244.3 kg per mu, 8.4% higher than the control Hedou No. 12.

[Cultivation] The suitable density is 13,000-15,000 plants per mu. Other management measures are the same as for general fields. It is planted and used as a summer soybean variety in central Shandong, southern Shandong and southwestern Shandong.

Jindou No. 23

[Characteristics] Plant height 90-100 cm, compact plant type, round leaves, dark green leaf color, brown pubescence, white flowers, indeterminate pod-setting habit. Seed coat yellow, glossy, black hilum. 100-seed weight 21-23 g, protein content 40.11%, fat 18.84%. Spring-sowing growth period 128-133 days. The plant grows robustly, with many branches, dense pods, early seed filling and large seeds. Strong drought resistance and virus resistance, tolerant to red spider mites.

[Yield] In 1999-2000, it participated in the national regional trial, with an average yield of 168.6 kg per mu, 11.5% higher than the control Tiefeng No. 27. In the 2000 national regional trial, the average yield was 169.7 kg per mu, 1.9% higher than the control. In the 2000 production trial, the average yield was 193.2 kg per mu, 2.4% higher than the control.

[Cultivation] For spring sowing, sow from late April to early May, with a sowing rate of 4-6 kg per mu and a planting density of 8000-10000 plants per mu. For replanting after wheat, sow from early to mid-June, with a sowing rate of about 7.5 kg per mu and about 16,000 retained seedlings per mu. Pay attention to sowing in good time and while there is sufficient soil moisture.
