Sweet potato drought-resistant cultivation tips: grow well even in dry weather
Three-leaf method: take sweet potato slips with 6-7 nodes, keep only the top 3 unfolded leaves when planting, and bury all the rest, including the leaves, in the soil; the buried part should be covered firmly and leveled flat. Buried-tip method. Sandy soil absorbs heat quickly and has high temperatures, so when planting sweet potato slips, cover the tips and leaves exposed above the ground with soil to a depth of more than 3 cm; after the slips have rooted in 2-3 days, remove the covering soil and expose the leaves.
Mud-dipping method. Before planting, mix water and soil into a slurry, dip the base of the sweet potato slips in the mud, and plant them while still wet.
Root-promoting method. Cut the sweet potato slips 7-10 days before planting, tie them into small bundles, soak the base of the slips in clear water mixed with thin mud to encourage rooting, and when the roots have grown to 5 cm long, water each hole and plant them in the field.
ABT method. Take 0.1 g of ABT rooting powder, dissolve it in warm water, then add 8 kg of water and stir evenly; soak the base of the slips, covering 2-3 nodes, for 30 minutes before planting.
Deep-hoeing method. Before planting, use a hoe to scrape away the dry surface soil on the sweet potato ridges, hoe deeply (about 10 cm) twice to loosen the moist soil in the planting holes, then plant; after planting, cultivate in time to encourage the slips to root early.
