How should corn be fertilized in summer? Please advise
Summer corn fertilization should follow the principles of "base fertilizer as the main part, topdressing as the supplement; within the base fertilizer, organic fertilizer as the main part, chemical fertilizer as the supplement; phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are mainly applied as base fertilizer, while topdressing is applied in stages; apply sufficient base fertilizer, apply seedling fertilizer early, and attach importance to the ear-setting fertilizer." The N:P:K ratio is preferably 1:0.5-0.8:0.5-0.8. Generally, the base fertilizer uses 1500 kg of liquid manure per mu, 5 kg of urea, and 20 kg of superphosphate. The base fertilizer can be broadcast and then plowed into the soil, or mostly broadcast with a small portion applied in a concentrated manner, or all applied in furrows or holes. Seed fertilizer and foliar spraying fertilizer are rarely used. Topdressing is divided into seedling fertilizer, jointing fertilizer, ear fertilizer, and grain fertilizer. After thinning and fixing the seedlings, promptly apply sufficient organic fertilizer; at the 4-5 leaf stage, apply seedling-promoting fertilizer well in combination with seedling fixing, generally using 1500-2000 kg of liquid manure per mu and about 10 kg of urea; on soils where phosphate and potassium fertilizers are effective, a portion of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be appropriately topdressed. When seedling growth is normal, heavily apply the ear fertilizer, and when chemical fertilizers are insufficient, apply the ear fertilizer in one concentrated topdressing. Grain fertilizer is applied at the tasseling stage, with a significant yield-increasing effect. After corn tasseling and flowering, phosphate fertilizer can be applied by foliar spraying, generally using a 0.4-0.5% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution or a 3-4% clear leachate of superphosphate, with about 75-100 kg per mu, sprayed on stems and leaves, with a significant effect.
