Because cauliflower varieties and cultivation periods differ, after the seedlings are established and survive, reasonable fertilizer and water management should be carried out at any time according to the weather and seedling condition in each period, to promote deep roots and lush leaves. In particular, early-maturing varieties have a short growing period and are planted under high-temperature conditions, so they have an urgent demand for fertilizer and water and should be top-dressed early; for mid-maturing varieties, top-dress once after the seedlings are established and have recovered from transplanting, and apply a heavy top-dressing when the curd first appears; for late-maturing varieties, the number of top-dressings should be increased. Generally, the first top-dressing is 4 days after planting, adding 100-150 g of urea per 50?K of water, then top-dress once every week thereafter, increasing the urea by 50 g each time. When curd formation begins, top-dress once every 10 days, for a total of 3 applications, each time applying 15-20?K of special compound fertilizer per mu. Stop top-dressing 15 days before harvest. During the growing period, water once every 3-5 days depending on the weather and soil fertility, keeping the soil moist; drain water promptly after rain, and strictly avoid waterlogging. Before the rows close, cultivate and weed 2-3 times, and earth up into ridges to facilitate drainage and irrigation.
